Randstad is proud to be partnering exclusively with Intermodal Terminal Company (ITC) in the search for an experienced Account Manager (AM) to help drive the commercial success of Australia’s largest intermodal freight terminal, based in Melbourne’s north.
You’ll be joining ITC at an exciting point in its journey—operations are ramping up, backed by significant investment from Aware Super, one of Australia’s largest infrastructure investors. Built for long-term national scale, the company is well-funded, ESG-aligned, and deeply committed to a strong environmental mission: shifting freight from road to rail and making a real impact by getting trucks off the road.
As a BDM, you will take on a high-impact, customer-facing role, developing and managing commercial relationships with key clients in rail, logistics, and freight forwarding to ensure long-term contractual success.
Key Responsibilities
Relationship Management: Identify, develop, and manage key customer relationships across the freight, logistics, and rail sectors.
Commercial Negotiations: Lead commercial negotiations and manage contract execution with new and existing clients to deliver revenue and volume growth.
Operational Onboarding: Support the transition of new customers into operations smoothly and strategically, helping define the long-term customer experience.
Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with terminal operations and leadership teams to ensure customer outcomes are seamlessly achieved.
Market Insight: Understand client needs and evolving market dynamics to inform key commercial decisions and shape the terminal's commercial model.
Skills & Experience Required
Industry Background: A proven background in business development, commercial sales, or client management within freight, rail, logistics, or infrastructure.
Commercial Acumen: Strong commercial acumen with a demonstrated ability to negotiate complex, long-term B2B contracts.
Account Growth: Demonstrated success in securing, onboarding, and growing large accounts in B2B logistics or transport environments.
Stakeholder Engagement: Ability to engage confidently with senior decision-makers across the industry.
Technical Understanding: An understanding of freight forwarding, terminal operations, or intermodal networks is highly advantageous.

You thrive in fast-paced, growth-oriented environments and enjoy building things from the ground up.
You are comfortable working autonomously while staying aligned with broader terminal operations.
You are genuinely passionate about ESG, sustainability, and transforming the future of Australian logistics.
