A federal government agency is seeking a detail-oriented and analytical individual to join the team as an APS4 Fraud Investigator. This position plays an important role in supporting the agency’s commitment to protecting program integrity and delivering high-quality public services.

The APS4 Fraud Investigator is a team membership position that works within defined parameters and applies well-established policies, principles, and procedures. The role provides both operational and administrative support and involves some research and analysis activities.
With a sound knowledge of investigative practices, the successful candidate will engage with internal and external stakeholders and provide advice on a range of matters to resolve moderately complex enquiries.
Key Responsibilities
Assist in the development of business processes and training materials
Use a Certificate IV in Government (Investigation) or equivalent to support the production of financial intelligence outputs
Gather, examine, evaluate, and interpret both qualitative and quantitative data
Assess information and analyse documents, raising or referring issues and supporting forensic accountants
Use and maintain information databases and analytical tools for reporting and data manipulation
Provide general administrative support to the team
Operate business systems including Excel, iBase, Altia, and CRM-based products
Requirements
Certificate IV in Government (Investigation), or equivalent (as per the Public Services Training Package PSP04)
Strong analytical and research skills
Proficiency with business systems and data analysis tools
Effective written and verbal communication skills
Ability to work collaboratively and manage tasks within a structured framework
