about the roles 

The Department of Industry, Science and Resources (DISR) is looking for enthusiastic and motivated people to express their interest in general APS Level 6 roles through our Disability Affirmative Measures Employment Register (ER). 

This ER will be used across the department to access skilled and capable people for ongoing vacancies as they arise. Your expression of interest will remain active on the ER for 18 months from the date advertised in the APS Jobs gazette or until you withdraw it. Once added to the ER, you can update your details if your availability or circumstances change.

eligibility 

To be eligible for employment in the APS and the department, applicants must be Australian Citizens. 

The filling of vacancies at this level is intended to constitute an affirmative measure under Section 33 of the Australian Public Service Commissioner’s Directions 2022. This vacancy is open only to people with disability. 

Successful applicants must provide evidence to confirm they are a person with disability. Evidence of disability is not to include information about the type of disability. Relevant evidence of a disability would be a certificate or letter from a registered medical practitioner.

  • letter from a Disability Employment Service or jobactive provider 
  • letter from a secondary or tertiary institution disability services unit in relation to a recent student. 

If the above documents are not available, a statutory declaration from the applicant can be accepted. 

security clearance 

These positions mainly require a Baseline security clearance, though some roles will require a higher security clearance. If you receive an offer of employment, you will be provided with information regarding obtaining and maintaining the appropriate clearance.
