This is an immediate role, commencing within the next week or two for a period of up to 3 months or longer. This is your chance to connect with your local trusted government and Bendigo recruitment specialist to hear about this opportunity.

About the role!

• Daily reading of water meters on an assigned walking route and records reads into an automated hand held device

  • Re-read meters where inaccurate readings or further clarification on readings is needed

  • Re-sequencing of problematic routes on an as needed basis

  • Leaks, faults, or discrepancies to meters are to be recorded and reported to the appropriate personnel

  • Locate water meters in the field that have not been logged within Coliban Water’s billing system

  • Perform minor repairs or replacement of damaged or defective water meters

  • Respond to customer questions while in the field

  • Update information within the billing system by entering meter locations, access status, trouble/alert codes, special notes and meter size

  • Removal of water meter restrictors when required

  • Assist in the training and ongoing support of fellow team members when needed

  • Continually assess and identify opportunities to improve meter reading activities and work with the Revenue Officer Meters to implement these changes to improve efficiencies
