Terminator Technician - New Theatre Project
Are you an exceptionally detail-oriented person, (maybe a touch of OCD) with a technical mind, a passion for setting up new displays, Installations for the Entertainment industry or equipment behind the scenes? This exciting opportunity does not require you to have any specific qualifications or official training. I am looking for someone with the technical know-how for the role, although, if you do have experience in the industry, even better.
My client is looking for a Terminator Technician to work on a new theatre project in Country NSW, with strong potential for ongoing work across the state. This initial project is 3 to 4 weeks, with an anticipated start date towards the end of June (TBA). For the right person, a long-term career path is on offer with future projects in Orange and beyond.

The right applicant doesn't need to be a local, you could be from anywhere, Brisbane down to SA, as the employer will fly you in for the duration of the project.
Key Responsibilities and Experience:
- Must have experience terminating Cat 6A cable (punch down).
- Must have experience terminating 3-pin XLR (audio) and 5-pin XLR (DMX), both soldered connections.
- Experience terminating BNC connectors.
- Meticulously installing and connecting data cables and terminators.
- Setting up and connecting display screens, video, projectors, data cables and audio equipment before the walls are put in.
- Ensuring all connections are precise, clean, and perfectly terminated.
- Working safely and efficiently from scaffolding.
Schedule & Remuneration:
- Schedule: 38 hours per week, Monday to Friday.
- Pay Rate: Starts at $50 per hour, based on experience.
- Travel & Accommodation: All travel, transfers, and accommodation costs are fully covered.
- Daily Per Diem: Receive $75 per day for food costs.
- Note: This is project-based work with supported travel, not a FIFO arrangement.
About You:
- Proven experience with terminators and data cable connections, experience in installations, as detailed above will be advantageous.
- Exceptional technical ability and meticulous attention to detail.
- Experience in entertainment/AV installations preferred.
- Reliable, professional, and able to work independently or in a small team.
- Kiss your dog good bye, the right applicant will have the ability to travel and work away for a few weeks at a time.
- No formal qualifications required – your practical experience is key!
