Reporting to the Senior People and Culture Manager, the role maintains an internal advisory model committed to merit based, transparent and diverse hiring practices while designing and implementing a compliant recruitment methodology aligned with Fair Work, National Employment Standards and the Australian Standard for Workforce Screening.
About The Role:
As the Talent Acquisition Manager, you’ll be expected to…
- Partner with department heads, hiring managers and business leaders to provide expert advice on recruitment, market conditions, remuneration mapping and candidate availability.
- Build high level trust with stakeholders by developing a deep understanding of team requirements and role nuances that extend beyond standard position descriptions.
- Manage and oversee relationships and expenditure with external recruitment agencies and third party suppliers, ensuring performance, cost control and minimal reliance on external providers where possible.
- Provide day-to-day coordination of the Talent Acquisition team, allocating job requisitions and monitoring capacity to ensure sustainable workload distribution and high-performance standards.
- Ensure all recruitment activity aligns with approved workforce priorities, providing the CPO with insights on market conditions, skill shortages, and pipeline risks.
- Oversee the implementation of a streamlined and efficient recruitment process for all vacancies, from initial search and job posting to professional interviewing and comprehensive pre-employment verification in alignment with the Australian Standard for Workforce Screening (100-point checks, security, and referee checks).
- Oversee and lead significant annual pipelines, including Apprenticeship and Engineering Work Experience (E-WEX) programs, managing everything from campaign planning and sequencing to overseeing applications, assessment design and panel preparations to stakeholder coordination with Engineering leaders and stakeholders.
About You:
Ideally you’ll have…
- An active AGSVA clearance, Baseline minimum.
- Demonstrated experience leading recruitment functions in complex technical or engineering environments.
- Proven capability in high-volume recruitment and assessment centre delivery.
- Strong understanding of merit-based and compliant recruitment practices.
- Ability to operate in a fast-paced, high-accountability environment.
- Strong stakeholder management and influencing skills.
- Sound understanding of Australian employment legislation as it relates to recruitment.
- Strong operational leadership and prioritisation capabilities
- High attention to process integrity and quality
- Adaptive and collaborative leadership style
