About the Company
Our client is a global specialized manufacturer of industrial solutions and commissioning projects for clients worldwide. They are headquartered in Europe but operate locally amongst other global locations.
Role Objective
As Supply Chain Manager, you’ll take the lead in keeping our operations running smoothly—making sure materials are where they need to be, when they need to be there. You’ll oversee both purchasing and warehousing, with a focus on strengthening procurement, ensuring reliable material supply & vendor assessment, and optimizing internal logistics.
You’ll be guiding a small, close-knit team of around four people, with plenty of room to make a real impact.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and execute a comprehensive supply chain strategy covering sourcing, procurement, manufacturing, and distribution.
- Translate strategy into actionable annual plans and KPIs for purchasing and warehousing.
- Monitor and analyze performance metrics, taking corrective action as needed.
- Stay current with market trends, technologies, and best practices.
- Identify and resolve process bottlenecks to boost efficiency and reduce costs.
- Negotiate, approve, and manage contracts with suppliers.
- Evaluate supplier performance and take corrective measures when standards aren’t met.
- Maintain strong supplier relationships while ensuring alignment with quality, price, and delivery requirements.
- Optimize warehouse layout and material flow to support production and customer delivery.
- Submit investment proposals to improve storage capacity and transport capabilities.
- Keep detailed records of all procurement activities for audit and compliance.
- Ensure all procurement activities comply with laws, regulations, and ethical standards.
- Manage legal documentation, including contracts, NDAs, and IP agreements.
- Lead and develop the purchasing and warehouse teams, promoting a culture of safety, accountability, and growth.
- Ensure compliance with Work Health & Safety Act 2011 and contribute to a safe and healthy workplace.
- Report any hazards, injuries, or incidents and follow safety protocols and procedures.
Qualifications, Experience & Skills:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Supply Chain, Business, or a related field
- Minimum 5yrs of proven experience in operations and supply chain management, preferably in steel or engineered industrial solutions
- Familiarity with steel fabrication processes and various welding techniques is a plus, especially for managing local and international suppliers
- Strong leadership and communication skills to engage, inspire, and align teams
- Solid project management skills with the ability to juggle multiple priorities and meet tight deadlines
- Proficiency with ERP, warehouse management, or MRP systems
- Experience collaborating with Engineering and Sales teams to launch new products
- A data-driven mindset—comfortable analyzing trends and turning insights into actionable improvements
- A genuine passion for LEAN principles, continuous improvement, and operational excellence
Salary and Work Rights
- $130K - $145K + 11.5% Super
