This is a pivotal leadership role focusing on a holistic work program, requiring a blend of strategic vision and hands-on delivery.

... - Pay Rate: $97-$120 + Super, EL2 Hourly Rate
- Location: Canberra, ACT.
- Contract Length: 12 months with a further 12-month extension option.
Role Responsibilities
As the lead for strategic communications, you will guide the Branch in prioritizing deliverables and fostering a stakeholder-focused culture. Your duties will include:
- Strategic Leadership: Facilitate a more strategic approach to communication efforts and set direction for work priorities.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Build relationships with internal and external stakeholders to identify and pursue positive communication outcomes.
- Strategy Development: Develop and maintain stakeholder consultation strategies that meet regulatory requirements
- Content & Delivery: Create diverse communication materials such as external presentations, fact sheets, and social media content to support engagement.
- Consultation Support: Assist with public meetings, one-to-one briefings, and the coordination of public engagement events.
- Capability Building: Develop staff communication skills through knowledge transfer, coaching, and information sharing.

The successful candidate will be a highly skilled professional who demonstrates:
- Strategic Communication Expertise: Proven experience in leading communications across a program of work and maintaining high-level strategies.
- Stakeholder Management: A stakeholder-focused approach with the ability to work effectively across teams to provide exceptional service.
- Strategic Problem Solving: Ability to work collaboratively to find creative and fit-for-purpose solutions.
- Technical Proficiency: Familiarity with social media content delivery platforms and analytics tools.
- Leadership: Experience in coaching, guiding, and developing employees to pursue planned and creative communication activities.
- Baseline clearance required
