• Monitors, measures, optimises, and reports on infrastructure load, performance and security events.
• Investigates, implements, and manages tools, techniques, and processes (including automation) for the management of systems, applications, and services.
• Oversees and/or delivers the planning, installation, maintenance and acceptance of new and updated infrastructure components, infrastructure-based services, and value add applications.
• Ensures that operational procedures and documentation are fit for purpose and kept up to date. Ensures that operational issues are identified, recorded, monitored and resolved. Provides appropriate status and other reports to specialists, users and managers.
• Provides technical expertise to enable the correct application of operational procedures.
• Carries out agreed operational procedures, including backup/restore, using supplied infrastructure tools and scripts.

• A strong understanding of virtualisation and cloud/hybrid cloud computing principles.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with a proven ability to work effectively in a team environment, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and communicate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders and management as required.
• Understanding and experience with operating systems (eg. VMWare, Windows Server) to troubleshoot and diagnose issues, organise and carry out patch management and conduct server installations.
• Experience working at a senior level within VMWare and Windows on-premise and cloud environments to design, implement and support the platform, including the ability to diagnose and resolve complex technical issues.
