About the role:
This role is responsible for providing subject matter expertise to stakeholders on a variety of functions related to the employment lifecycle. The role has a strong focus on case management, responsible for providing expert and up to date advice on: industrial relations, employee relations, performance management, employment contract and analytics to inform strategic decision making. Developing sound policies, procedures, solutions and interventions, is also key to the success of this position
Key Responsibilities include:
- Provide high-level guidance on the interpretation of legislation, Enterprise Agreements (EA), and HR policies.
- Deliver expert advice on industrial relations, employee relations, and performance management to inform strategic decisions.
- Develop coaching partnerships with managers to empower them to handle HR issues within adopted frameworks.
- Prepare and analyze workforce metrics to identify trends and inform attraction, retention, and succession planning.
- Lead HR projects with organization-wide impact and contribute to team planning, including budgets and risk.
Key capabilities include:
- Detailed understanding of Industrial/Employee Relations and the legal/political context of a Council environment.
- Strong ability to investigate issues, formulate policies, and analyze organizational trends.
- High proficiency with Microsoft Office and HR information systems, specifically CHRIS 21.
- Ability to support and lead culture and workplace change programs.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Extensive experience (approximately 10 years) in a generalist HR role within a complex organizational environment.
- Demonstrated track record in developing and implementing HR policies, procedures, and programs.
- Tertiary qualification in Human Resources or a related field (or equivalent extensive experience).
- Proven skills in facilitation, presentation, collaboration, and influencing stakeholders.
