We're looking for an experienced and driven Senior Mechanical Engineer to join our dynamic team and lead the design and delivery of complex Building Services projects. Key Responsibilities
Lead Project Design: Manage and execute all phases of HVAC, plumbing, and fire protection system design for various projects, ensuring compliance with codes, standards, and client requirements.
Technical Oversight: Perform detailed engineering calculations, system sizing, equipment selection, and technical specifications. Review and seal construction documents (drawings and specifications).
Collaboration and Coordination: Work closely with architects, electrical engineers, structural engineers, and clients to integrate mechanical systems effectively and resolve complex design conflicts.
Quality Assurance: Conduct site surveys, inspections, and construction administration activities to ensure the successful implementation of designs.
Mentorship: Guide, train, and mentor junior and intermediate engineers, fostering a culture of technical excellence and continuous improvement.
Client Management: Serve as the primary technical contact for clients, presenting design concepts, preparing proposals, and managing project budgets and schedules.
What You'll Bring
Education: Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering from an accredited institution.
Experience: Minimum of 5 + years of progressive experience in mechanical design specifically within Building Services/MEP Consulting.
Professional Registration: Professional Engineer (PE) License or equivalent provincial/territorial registration is desired.
Technical Skills: Expertise in design software (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit MEP) and energy modeling tools.
Knowledge: Deep understanding of relevant building codes (e.g., IBC, IMC, ASHRAE, NFPA) and sustainable design principles (e.g., LEED, WELL).
Soft Skills: Exceptional communication, presentation, and organizational skills, with a proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
