About the Role
This is an incredible opportunity for a Senior Legal Counsel to step into a high-profile position at the heart of Brisbane’s journey to the 2032 Olympic and Paralympic Games. You’ll act as a trusted adviser to key stakeholders, lead complex negotiations and provide clear, commercially focused legal advice on projects that will shape the city in the lead-up to the Games.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide legal support to the Brisbane 2032 Commercial team and wider functions
- Lead complex negotiations with major sponsors and partners
- Draft and manage sponsorship, licensing, supply and services contracts
- Ensure compliance with the Olympic Host Contract, rights agreements and governance requirements
- Deliver clear, practical legal advice to guide strategic decisions
- Strengthen legal processes and manage key stakeholder relationships
Skills and Experience
- Extensive experience in contract drafting and complex negotiations
- Admitted to practise law in Australia with a current practising certificate
- Minimum 5-7+ years’ PQE, ideally from a top-tier firm or in-house environment
- Sound knowledge of intellectual property law and commercialisation of rights
- Commercial mindset with the ability to balance risk and opportunity
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills
- Ability to work independently while contributing to a collaborative team
