Randstad HR Partners is representing a global manufacturer for a 12 month Senior HR Advisor role – a proactive, hands-on HR professional who excels as the "face" of people operations. This is an opportunity to own the HR function on the ground in Brisbane across three key Brisbane sites (5 days onsite role), you will provide high-touch, face-to-face support to a diverse workforce of white and blue-collar professionals. Operating with a high degree of autonomy, you will drive a high-performance culture and implement talent management initiatives across Queensland operations.
... Responsibilities
- Provide dedicated, proactive HR support and guidance to business leaders across multiple Brisbane locations.
- Coach people leaders on best practices for hiring, inspiring, developing, and retaining talented employees to drive customer success.
- Act as the subject matter expert by advising on the consistent application of policies and practices, interpreting industrial awards, and managing internal investigations when required.
- Meet regularly and proactively with managers to provide HR guidance on change management, compensation, retention, engagement, talent assessments, and performance development.
- Partner closely with the Regional Talent Manager on talent mapping, succession planning, and local and global employee mobility.
- Lead the deployment of continuous improvement initiatives related to HR systems and process integration within the region.
- Partner with Operational leaders to execute business-specific strategies.
- Conduct market and competitor analysis to benchmark best practices for potential local implementation.
- Employee Relations (case management, investigations and grievance handling).
Experience and Skills required:
- Be a resilient, autonomous HR professional who enjoys the variety of a site-based role, ideally having experience in a stand-alone or lean HR team environment.
- Have a recognised degree in Human Resources, Economics, or Business (preferred).
- At least 5+ years of relevant HR work experience.
- Have a proven track record interpreting Australian employment law, WH&S legislation, manufacturing awards, and other government legislation.
- Possess a high-level ability to influence, consult, and negotiate with stakeholders at all levels, as well as external service providers and agencies.
- Have strategic business knowledge and maintain confidentiality and discretion.
- Have experience with HRIS systems (Workday preferred) and a personal motivation for upskilling in AI.
- Ideally have experience within the Manufacturing, Construction, Rail, or Engineering industries.
