We are seeking a Senior Health Safety and Environmental Advisor for one of our clients, a major and growing player in Australia's renewable energy sector. This is a critical role for the success of their projects, and you'll have a chance to make a tangible difference on the ground, actively contributing to the country's energy transition.
The Role
As a pragmatic and stand-alone professional, you'll be responsible for identifying, assessing, and resolving health, safety, and environmental risks across our project sites and workplaces.
Your key responsibilities include:
Conducting regular site inspections and audits to ensure compliance with standards and regulations.
Leading incident investigations, identifying root causes, and implementing corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
Providing expert advice and coaching to employees and contractors to foster a strong safety culture.
Monitoring and enforcing contractor compliance with safety standards.
Supporting emergency response planning and crisis management.
Collaborating with project and construction teams to proactively resolve safety concerns.
Travelling regularly to project sites to provide hands-on support.
About You
We are looking for a professional who excels at identifying and solving problems and is prepared to work autonomously to ensure safety in the field.
A minimum of 5 years of experience in health and safety advisory roles in the workplace and on project sites.
Experience in the renewable energy (or construction) sector is highly desirable.
Strong knowledge of WHS legislation, codes of practice, and industry best practices.
Proven experience in conducting inspections, audits, and risk assessments.
High-level problem-solving, analytic, and communication skills.
Possession of a valid White Card is essential.
Willingness to travel to project sites as needed.
