An immediate opportunity has become available for a highly skilled Senior Financial Accountant to join their team for a 4-month interim contract.
About the role:
Reporting to the Manager, Financial Accounting, you will play a critical role in supporting the deliverables of the Financial Accounting team. This is a hands-on position that also requires strong leadership, as you will be responsible for coaching and managing two direct reports.
Your key responsibilities will include:
Leading the monthly, quarterly, and annual close process.
Preparing ASIC statutory financial statements for multiple complex group entities.
Preparing technical accounting position papers and advice on IFRS.
Managing the external audit process, including preparing audit working papers.
Preparing monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting for shareholders.
Undertaking month-end activities, including journals, intercompany eliminations, and balance sheet reconciliations.
Preparing tax effect accounting calculations.
Advising business stakeholders on accounting treatments to optimise commercial outcomes.
To be successful in this contract, you will be a technically strong and proactive accountant who can start quickly. You will have:
A CA or CPA qualification and a relevant tertiary degree.
5+ years' experience in a dedicated financial accounting role.
A strong technical understanding and application of Australian and International Accounting Standards (IFRS).
Demonstrated experience preparing statutory financial reports and managing financial audits.
An audit background is highly preferred.
Experience coaching or guiding junior team members.
Working knowledge of an ERP system, with SAP (FI Module) knowledge being highly preferred.
