My client is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Finance Manager to take on a pivotal role within their finance team. This position is central to the corporate financial accounting and control functions, overseeing both Group and Metro JV entities. You'll be a key internal partner to the CFO, General Manager of Corporate Finance, Investor Relations, and various finance and senior management teams. Externally, you'll collaborate with auditors and consultants, providing essential financial insights and advice.
This role reports directly to the General Manager of Corporate Finance and has two direct reports: a Finance Manager and a Senior Financial Accountant.
Key Responsibilities:
As a Senior Finance Manager, you'll be accountable for:
- Corporate financial control and accounting, including statutory financial accounts for Group, Metro, and other ASX-related reporting.
- Managing corporate forecasts and budgets, alongside comprehensive variance analysis.
- Developing accounting policies and leading the monthly corporate reporting process.
- Managing relationships with external auditors and defining their scope of work.
- Designing and maintaining robust financial controls and policies that align with regulatory and accounting standards while offering business flexibility.
- Owning and communicating the overall financial timetable, coordinating with board meetings, external property managers, and reporting deadlines.
- Delivering corporate aspects of budgeting and forecasting in conjunction with the General Manager of Commercial Finance.
- Identifying revenue and expense opportunities and delivering insightful management reporting with the General Manager of Commercial Finance.
About You:
You're an accomplished finance professional with:
- CA or CPA qualified with extensive experience in corporate financial control and accounting, especially with publicly listed entities.
- Strong background in statutory financial reporting and ASX compliance.
- Proven ability in managing budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis.
- A track record of developing and implementing accounting policies.
- Expertise in managing external auditor relationships and financial controls.
- Experience within property, infrastructure, joint ventures or funds are desirable but not essential
- Experience with Yardi or other property systems is preferred
- A collaborative approach to driving financial performance.
