About the Role
Our client is a well-known VIC state government organisation who are responsible for managing and protecting Melbourne's major water resources on behalf of the community. They are currently seeking a Senior Finance Business Partner to come in and join their Melbourne CBD team on a 6 week temp assignment.
Candidates for this role will have previous experience working as a Senior Finance Business Partner, coupled with relevant qualifications in Accounting and Finance – CPA/CA qualification (preferred).
As the Senior Finance BP you will be accountable for providing strategic finance and operational advice to the allocated portfolios to enable informed business decisions and help drive improvement in financial performance.
Key responsibilities
- Building and maintaining relationships with key stakeholders across the organization and being the key point of contact for all finance services whilst ensuring compliance with Melbourne Water financial regulations
- Preparing and presenting financial reports to management, highlighting key trends, insights, and performance against objectives
- Lead the allocated portfolio senior leadership groups in meeting all internal business group reporting requirements
- Analysing financial data, building financial models, and conducting scenario planning to support decision-making and identify areas for improvement.
- Providing financial analysis and support for business cases, including investment decisions and strategic initiatives.
- Participate in the executive discussions for the development of mid- and long-term strategic initiatives with reference to financial sustainability
- Provide ongoing financial education to key stakeholders to improve commercial capability in the organisation
- Develop strong working relationships to successfully identify and understand the business strategy, goals and identification and embedding of financial efficiencies into budgets and forecasts
- Provide highly relevant insight into performance management and assist in the decision-making process by providing insightful information and financial analysis
About You
You will be an experienced Senior Finance Business Partner with proven experience and reliability in previous positions.
The successful candidate will possess:
- Professional Financial Qualification and Experience - CPA/CA qualification (preferred).
- Strategic Planning and Analytical Acumen
- Exceptional Communication and Influencing Skills
- Deep Commercial Acumen
- High-Level Stakeholder Management
- Risk Management and Governance experience
