This business has a low turnover of employees due to their continuous development and career progression plans, regular salary reviews and growing projects to ensure their employees truly feel valued and appreciated. We're looking for a highly skilled Senior Estimator to join our growing commercial construction team. This is a unique opportunity for an ambitious professional ready to take on a leadership role.
Ideally, this company would like someone based regionally, they are willing to look at remote work/ work from home and an expectation to travel to the office for tender closes.
The Role
As our Senior Estimator, you'll be a key player in our pre-construction phase. You'll be responsible for preparing detailed, accurate, and competitive estimates for a variety of commercial projects. Your ability to analyse blueprints, evaluate specifications, and collaborate with project managers and subcontractors will be critical. You will be joining a team 5, with a range of experienced Estimators.
Key responsibilities will include:
Preparing comprehensive cost estimates for commercial construction projects.
Conducting detailed takeoff, and analysing proposals and bids from subcontractors and suppliers.
Developing and maintaining strong relationships with clients, architects, and vendors.
Identifying and evaluating project risks and opportunities.
Mentoring and guiding junior estimators.
What We're Looking For
The ideal candidate will have:
- A bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field is preferred.
- Demonstrative experience of at least 7-10 years of experience as a Commercial Construction Estimator.
- Proven expertise with estimating software - Cubit/ Cost X
- A strong understanding of construction methods, materials, and local regulations.
- Excellent analytical, mathematical, and negotiation skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to lead and motivate a team.
- A willing attitude to lead and develop further in the business
