About the Opportunity
Join a leading Tier 1 Australian infrastructure provider dedicated to shaping the nation’s essential services. We are currently seeking a motivated Senior Contracts Administrator to join our Utilities team in the Northern Suburbs, Melbourne.
This is a pivotal role within a business unit known for long-standing excellence across multiple sectors. You will work on large-scale projects, supporting contract lifecycles from inception to completion while growing your career in a supportive, high-growth environment. You will manage both upstream and downstream expenses optimising costs
Key Responsibilities
In this role, you will support the implementation of contractual rights and obligations, assist with month-end financial reporting, and manage procurement services to maximise project outcomes.
Contract Management: Review head contracts and subcontracts to manage commercial models, risks, and obligations.
Procurement: Support project teams with procurement for assigned work packages within strict time frames.
Financial Reporting: Assist Project Managers with monthly cost reports, cost-to-complete updates, and accurate cost forecasting.
Subcontractor Admin: Manage downstream administration, including variations, payment schedules, and invoice approvals.
Claims & Variations: Prepare and submit upstream commercial notices, extension of time (EOT) claims, and variations with the support of the Commercial Manager.
Risk Mitigation: Identify commercial risks and assist in developing effective mitigation strategies.
Records Maintenance: Ensure all contractual records, registers, and meeting minutes are accurately maintained.
About You: Senior Contracts Administrator
We are looking for a commercially-minded professional with a "can-do" attitude and a background in engineering or construction environments.
Requirements:
Education: Tertiary qualification in Construction Management, Quantity Surveying, Engineering, Law, or Commerce/Business.
Experience: 6+ years of experience in Contract Administration or a related commercial role.
Technical Skills: Proven experience in head contract and subcontract management, including procurement, scope analysis, and claims management.
Software: Proficiency in SAP is highly beneficial but not essential.
Industry Knowledge: Previous experience within the utilities, infrastructure, or heavy construction sectors is preferred.
