About the opportunity
As a Senior Civil Engineer, you will be a technical lead within a dynamic civil team. You will leverage your expertise to deliver high-profile infrastructure projects across the water, land development, or roads sectors.
Key Responsibilities
- Project Leadership: Lead the delivery of specialist or multidisciplinary projects, including design documentation and technical reports.
- End-to-End Management: Act as Project Manager and Lead Designer for state, municipal, and commercial projects, ensuring delivery on scope, budget, and time.
- Client Engagement: Act as a "trusted advisor" to a diverse client base, including councils, government agencies, and private developers.
- Mentorship: Support the growth of the firm by mentoring junior engineers and technical staff.
- Commercial Oversight: Prepare fee proposals and manage project resources effectively.
About you
You are a proactive engineer with a deep understanding of the Tasmanian engineering landscape and have worked in similar role previously.
To be successful, you will have:
- Experience: Approximately 8+ years of post-graduate experience in civil engineering within a consultancy environment.
- Credentials: Current Chartered status (CPEng) or eligibility for Chartership with Engineers Australia.
- Technical Breadth: Proven experience in one or more of the following:
- Water/Sewer: Trunk mains, pump stations, and treatment plants (WSAA/TasWater standards).
- Stormwater: Rainfall/runoff calculations, flood analysis, and detention modelling (AR&R).
- Roads: 3D design for local and state roads (Austroads standards).
- Communication: Exceptional technical writing skills and the ability to build strong interpersonal relationships.
