SAP S/4HANA MM Functional Consultant – Pharmacy Stock Management

A consulting business is seeking an experienced SAP S/4HANA MM Functional Consultant to deliver pharmacy stock management and inventory solutions within complex healthcare environments. This role focuses on SAP-enabled supply chain optimisation, system integration, and compliance-driven delivery across hospital and clinical settings.
The role is open to candidates based in Sydney, Melbourne, or Canberra, with an expectation to work onsite in the closest office 2–3 days per week.
Key Responsibilities
Lead design, configuration, and deployment of SAP S/4HANA MM solutions supporting pharmacy stock management
Analyse current-state pharmacy inventory, replenishment, and dispensing processes and design SAP-aligned target states
Configure SAP MM master data, purchasing, MRP, batch and serial management, storage locations, and inventory controls
Support integration between SAP and pharmacy management systems, including automated dispensing solutions
Collaborate with pharmacy, clinical, procurement, finance, and logistics teams to ensure end-to-end process alignment
Develop functional specifications for system enhancements, interfaces, and reporting
Coordinate and support testing activities including SIT, UAT, defect resolution, and cutover readiness
Deliver end-user training, operational documentation, and post–go-live hypercare support
Drive continuous improvement using SAP best practices for healthcare supply chain and pharmacy logistics
Ensure compliance with medication handling regulations, TGA requirements, and healthcare quality standards
Skills and Experience
Strong experience as an SAP SCM/MM Functional Consultant, ideally within SAP S/4HANA
Solid functional knowledge of inventory management, procurement, MRP, and stock transfer processes
Experience supporting pharmacy stock management within hospital or large healthcare environments
Understanding of integration between SAP and clinical or pharmacy systems
Proven ability to lead workshops, produce functional documentation, and manage diverse stakeholders
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
Ability to operate autonomously within complex delivery environments
Qualifications
Tertiary qualification in IT, Supply Chain, Pharmacy, or a related discipline
SAP SCM/MM or S/4HANA certification is desirable
Security Requirements
Australian Citizenship is required
Baseline Security Clearance is mandatory
NV1 clearance is highly regarded
