SAP S/4HANA MM Functional Consultant (Real-Time Logistics)

A consulting business is seeking an experienced SAP S/4HANA MM Functional Consultant to deliver solution design and implementation across real-time logistics and materials management processes. This role focuses on leveraging S/4HANA capabilities to optimise procurement, inventory, and logistics execution within complex enterprise and government environments.
The role is open to candidates based in Sydney, Melbourne, or Canberra, with an expectation to work onsite in the closest office 2–3 days per week.
Key Responsibilities
Lead solution design for SAP S/4HANA Materials Management and real-time logistics processes
Analyse business requirements and translate them into SAP functional specifications and configuration
Configure MM components including purchasing, sourcing, vendor management, inventory, and goods movements
Drive optimisation using S/4HANA capabilities such as Fiori apps, embedded analytics, MRP Live, and real-time reporting
Support integration between MM and related modules including EWM/WM, SD, PP, Finance, and Ariba where applicable
Lead workshops, fit-gap analysis, process mapping, and solution demonstrations
Support the full project lifecycle including design, build, test, cutover, and hypercare
Produce functional documentation including configuration guides, test scripts, and training materials
Provide guidance on logistics best practices, governance, and continuous improvement
Mentor junior consultants and contribute to internal capability development
Ensure adherence to delivery frameworks, compliance requirements, and quality standards
Skills and Experience
Strong hands-on experience delivering SAP S/4HANA or ECC MM solutions
Proven experience supporting real-time logistics or supply chain optimisation initiatives
Configuration expertise across procurement, inventory management, goods receipt/issue, and MRP
Understanding of S/4HANA innovations including Fiori, embedded analytics, and simplified data models
Experience integrating MM with logistics modules such as EWM or WM
Strong stakeholder engagement, workshop facilitation, and client advisory capability
Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and documentation skills
Qualifications
Tertiary qualification in IT, Business, Supply Chain, or a related discipline
SAP MM or S/4HANA Supply Chain certification is preferred
Security Requirements
Australian Citizenship is required
Baseline Security Clearance is mandatory
NV1 clearance is highly regarded
