ERP Principal Specialist – People Services (SAP Focus)
About the Role: We are seeking a highly experienced ERP Principal Specialist – People Services to lead an end-to-end functional capability within Council's People Service Function under the Corporate Shared Services Domain. This pivotal 12-month contract role, based in Brisbane CBD, holds accountability for the vision, strategy, and functional delivery of initiatives across all People Service Applications supporting Payroll, Human Resources, and Environment Health & Safety (EH&S) Business Functions.
Central to this function will be SAP SuccessFactors, S4 Payroll, ECC6 HR, and ECC6 Payroll Systems. You will manage relationships with senior business stakeholders and lead a team of internal functional consultants and external service providers. This role also provides strategic guidance, solution assurance, and business partnership to the S4/HANA Project (Services for Brisbane Modern ERP Project).
Key Deliverables:
Develop functional strategy and roadmaps aligned to business strategy.
Scope new initiatives and provide internal consulting advice to business and ISB stakeholders.
Manage functional, reporting, and integration solutions, along with data conversion requirements and design.
Define and accept solution testing scope, scripts, and results, and accept service transition to support.
Manage touch points between HR/Payroll & EH&S systems and other corporate shared service areas.
Lead and manage a functional consulting team, ensuring the right skills for project and BAU change initiatives.
What We're Looking For: This role requires significant senior SAP leadership and technical skills, including:
Significant experience working in SAP ECC, SuccessFactors, and S/4 HANA environments in SAP functional consulting and/or SAP solution architecture.
Demonstrated significant experience successfully managing SAP functional teams, including implementing industry frameworks (e.g., SAP Activate).
Significant experience in end-to-end SAP project implementations in a process-driven environment as a functional lead.
Demonstrated specialist experience in SAP HCM sub-modules: Payroll, Time management, Personnel Administration, Organisational Management, People Analytics/MSS, SAP SuccessFactors, with detailed knowledge of employee lifecycle and payroll processes.
Demonstrated specialist experience in Master Data Governance, including Data Ownership, Data Standards, Data Quality, Data Lifecycle Management, Data Governance Policies, Data Stewardship, Data Integration, Data Security, and Data Auditing.
Exceptional stakeholder engagement, influencing, and management skills.
Mandatory Requirements:
Tertiary qualification in a relevant or related discipline.
SAP certification in relevant SAP modules.
