About the Role
As the Risk, Compliance and Policy Officer, you'll be instrumental in shaping the school's approach to risk and compliance. This role offers the opportunity to apply your substantial knowledge and expertise to a variety of complex activities, ensuring we meet all statutory, regulatory, and policy frameworks. Additionally you will ensure school policy and processes are regularly reviewed, documented and communicated to the leadership team.
Key Responsibilities will include:
... - Risk Management: Supporting College-wide risk processes for on site and off site activities, regularly reviewing risks with owners, and providing expert advice.
- Compliance: Maintaining our College Policy Register, assisting with policy development, and advising staff on updates.
- Championing WH&S within the College culture, staying abreast of legal changes, setting measurable WH&S targets, and preparing an organisational chart identifying all WH&S risks.
- Assisting the WH&S Manager with Return to Work duties and processes, supporting injured employees through their return to work programs.
- Committee Secretary: Serving as Secretary to the College WH&S Committee, managing agendas and minutes.
To be successful in this role, you'll need:
- A current Queensland Working with Children Clearance (Blue Card).
- A relevant tertiary qualification.
- A minimum of three years experience in a similar role.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and familiarity with Microsoft Teams and Share Point.
- To be an ambassador for all of the schools policies, processes and systems
- Well-developed understanding of relevant statutory, regulatory, and policy frameworks.
- Accountability for maintaining risk management programs and contributing to strategic planning.
- Sound judgement in analysing complex issues and selecting appropriate courses of action.
- The ability to work under limited supervision, exercising discretion and initiative.
- Excellent problem-solving skills, capable of developing innovative solutions to complex issues.
- Strong communication, negotiation, and relationship management skills to liaise with diverse stakeholders
