About the Client & the Culture
Our client is one of Australia’s most trusted health insurance brands, known not just for looking after their members, but truly looking after their people. They boast a vibrant, supportive, and genuinely great team culture where collaboration actually happens, and your hard work is noticed.
Based in beautiful offices right on George Street in the CBD, your daily commute will be a breeze with trains, light rail, and buses right on your doorstep.
About the Role
We are looking for a detail-oriented Recoveries & Collections Specialist to join their Benefit Integrity team. Reporting to a supportive Policy and Audit Manager, you won’t just be chasing numbers; you will be managing the pre-legal recovery process with a focus on negotiation, relationship management, and problem-solving.
This isn't a high-volume, aggressive call-centre environment. It's a professional, compliance-focused role where you will work closely with healthcare providers to resolve outstanding balances identified through internal audits.
What You'll Be Doing:
Managing Recoveries: Reaching out to providers (via phone and email) regarding audit findings, negotiating fair payment plans, and monitoring accounts.
Provider Care: Handling inbound enquiries with empathy and professionalism, ensuring great relationships are maintained even during tough conversations.
Admin & Reporting: Setting up recovery plans, maintaining monthly collections reports, and keeping an eye on recovery timeframes.
Continuous Improvement: Spotting gaps in processes and working with the Manager to improve recovery policies and internal projects.
What You’ll Bring:
The Basics: A solid understanding of debt collection guidelines, practices, and compliance.
The Skills: Excellent negotiation skills matched with a professional, positive, and empathetic phone manner.
The Mindset: A persistent attitude and an investigative mind—you love uncovering the hidden details and solving puzzles.
The Polish: Strong written and verbal communication, great attention to detail, and sound numeracy skills.
Bonus Points: Experience in a legal, financial, or insurance collections environment is highly regarded, but it’s your customer-first attitude that will set you apart.
Why You’ll Love It:
This is a secure, long-term contract until June 2027 offering stability, a fantastic salary package, and the chance to add a powerhouse brand to your resume.
