Our Client is looking for dedicated and skilled Rates Officers to join our Rates Collection Team within the Chief Finance Office division. About the Role
As a Rates Officer, your objective is to provide accurate and efficient administrative support to the Property & Rates Office, including general clerical duties. You will be required to work independently but also be part of a well-developed team environment. Your primary goal is to maintain and update critical client databases and registers while providing exceptional customer service.
Key Responsibilities Will Include:
... Actioning changes of ownership, address forms, and other notices received by the Rate and Valuations Office (including sales data) on the client's database.
Providing clear and appropriate information and advice to customers on the telephone and/or in person regarding property and rate inquiries.
Generating appropriate and accurate written responses to Property, Rate, and Valuation correspondence.
Ensuring the accurate and timely processing of pension rebates and/or pension maintenance.
Investigating and accurately processing waste services requests.
Processing complex matters like Land Information Certificates , Building Permits , Planning Permits , and subdivisions/consolidations for supplementary valuation purposes.
Creating new property, rate, and valuation records for multi unit development or consolidations.
What You'll Bring
You are a proactive individual with strong analytical and problem-solving skills , capable of working independently while being a great team player.
Essential Skills and Knowledge:
High-level oral and written communication skills.
Proficiency in database maintenance and Microsoft applications—Word, Excel, Outlook.
The ability to effectively manage time, plan, and organise work and set priorities.
A high level of maturity and attention to detail.
Ability to apply standardised procedures and practices in relation to property and rating services of the client.
A current Driver's Licence (valid in Victoria ).
Highly Desirable Experience and Knowledge:
Database and property, rates, and valuation experience is desirable.
Knowledge of planning permits, building permits, etc.
Understanding of Titles, and the various plans of sub-division, consolidation, etc..
Ability to read and measure building plans.
Mandatory Requirements
