We're seeking a talented Quality Assurance / Quality Control Lead to be based in South Australia. In this pivotal role, reporting directly to the Project Manager, you will be instrumental in ensuring the flawless delivery of quality across our diverse and challenging project portfolio. ... - Champion Quality: Drive the implementation and adherence to Quality Policies and Procedures throughout all project phases.
- Ensure Compliance: Conduct rigorous reviews of technical documentation to guarantee alignment with client specifications.
- Innovate for Quality: Proactively identify and develop technical enhancements related to quality across our core disciplines: Insulation, Protective Coatings, Fire Protection, Scaffolding, and Mechanicals.
- Be the Quality Authority: Serve as the primary point of contact for all quality-related inquiries, ensuring consistent fulfilment of client quality requirements.
- Drive Improvement: Conduct thorough process audits to verify compliance with quality standards and implement effective corrective actions.
- Develop Best Practices: Create clear and concise Work Procedures and Method Statements aligned with industry best practices and project specifications.
- Manage Quality Plans: Develop and oversee Work Method Statements and Inspection Test Plans (ITPs).
- Optimise Costs: Identify opportunities for cost efficiencies through innovative quality initiatives.
- Document with Precision: Prepare comprehensive QA/QC documentation for all project aspects, including drawings and material specifications.
- Provide Expert Support: Offer invaluable quality and technical guidance to project teams.
- Collaborate for Solutions: Partner with Site Management to resolve any site discrepancies or ambiguities related to drawings, methodology, and project specifications.
- Ensure Material Integrity: Conduct meticulous material inspections and documentation reviews, including regular random checks.
- Anticipate Challenges: Undertake in-house research and technical development to proactively address potential installation or application issues.
- Contribute to Growth: Support business development activities by highlighting our unwavering commitment to quality.
- Report on Performance: Develop and present regular Quality Management Reports, Close-out Reports, and deliver training materials for work sites.
- Communicate with Confidence: Actively participate in quality and technical presentations to both internal management and external clients.
- Drive Continuous Improvement: Prepare Improvement Requests to enhance our processes continually.
- Ensure Documentation Accuracy: Assist in the compilation of Manufacturers Data Reports (MDRs), ensuring accurate recording of all technical details and activity.
- Analyse and Improve: Analyse MDR feedback to pinpoint root causes of quality, performance, or reliability issues, informing future improvements in design, material supply, fabrication, and inspection processes.
- Lead and Develop: Foster a culture of respect and strong team spirit through effective leadership, development, and training within your area of responsibility.
- Champion HSE: Actively promote and adhere to Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) policies and procedures, contributing to our commitment to safe, quality-focused, environmentally conscious, healthy, and efficient work practices.
What You'll Need to Succeed:
- Mechanical and/or Coatings Inspection Certification under recognised International and/or Australian Quality Standards.
- A minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in Quality Assurance / Quality Control Management within key industrial disciplines (Insulation, Surface Protection, or Scaffolding) on significant industrial projects, with exposure to the Oil and Gas sector being highly regarded.
- At least 5 years of experience in Applications / Procedures for secondary industrial disciplines (Fire Protection, Refractory, or Asbestos Removal) on large industrial projects, with some experience in the Oil and Gas sector.
- Proven track record and a strong understanding of auditing Quality Systems (ISO 9001:2008 / AS 4801:2001).
- Experience working on Offshore Installations.
- Demonstrated proficiency in preparing comprehensive Work Procedures and Method Statements.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills in English.
- Strong computer literacy across standard office applications.
- Outstanding customer focus, client liaison, and interpersonal abilities.
- Proven ability to understand and interpret complex technical information and design drawings.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data, statistics, and technical reports accurately.
- Impeccable attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy in all aspects of your work.
- A proven ability to work effectively both autonomously and as a collaborative member of a high-performing team.
