About the Opportunity
We are looking for a strategic and hands-on Public Relations, Communications & Events Manager to protect, elevate, and amplify our iconic consumer brand across Australia and New Zealand. This role balances high-level strategic planning with active execution, serving as a key custodian of our external voice across earned media, public-facing communications, and experiential events.

Key Responsibilities
Public Relations & External Communications Strategy
Develop and lead the comprehensive Public Relations and communications strategy in alignment with overall brand and business priorities.
Own brand reputation management across earned media, partnerships, and public-facing communications.
Act as the key custodian of the external voice, ensuring total consistency of tone, messaging, and positioning.
Media Relations & Storytelling
Build and maintain strong, productive relationships with media, journalists, and relevant influencers.
Proactively identify and pitch compelling stories that showcase our products, design ethos, sustainability leadership, and cultural relevance.
Secure impactful earned media coverage that strengthens brand awareness, credibility, and consumer demand.
Manage reactive media enquiries with speed, clarity, and sound judgement.
Corporate & Executive Communications
Lead corporate communications including executive messaging, internal announcements, community updates, and business milestones.
Support executive thought leadership and secure relevant speaking opportunities.
Develop and maintain robust frameworks for crisis communications, issues management, and risk response.
Event Strategy & Execution
Conceptualize, produce, and manage consumer, partner, product, store, loyalty, and corporate events from conception to completion.
Partner with internal and external stakeholders to execute brand events consistent with high execution standards.
Manage budgets, ROI tracking, and annual planning for all events.
Cross-Functional Integration & Partner Management
Partner with Brand, Marketing, and Social teams to seamlessly integrate Public Relations narratives into broader campaigns and social storytelling.
Collaborate with Creative and Product teams to translate innovation, design, and sustainability credentials into compelling stories.
Manage external Public Relations agencies and specialist partners, setting clear briefs, priorities, and performance expectations.
Monitor media coverage, sentiment, and category trends to refine strategy and identify new opportunities.
Skills & Experience Required
Senior Experience: Proven background in Public Relations, communications, brand reputation, and event management, ideally within a luxury or consumer-centric business.
Media Expertise: Strong understanding of media relations, earned media strategy, and reputation management.
Narrative Craft: A proven ability to craft clear, compelling narratives across consumer, corporate, and executive communications.
Crisis & Fast Environments: Confidence operating calmly and decisively in fast-moving media environments, including issues and crisis management.
Stakeholder Management: Exceptional interpersonal skills with the ability to influence across functions, external partners, and executive levels.
Aesthetic & Detail: A strong eye for detail, design, and brand aesthetics, combined with excellent written communication skills.
Growth Mindset: Experience working within high-growth or founder-led businesses, with the ability to balance strategic planning with hands-on execution.
Flexibility: A willingness to work outside traditional business hours and weekends as required for events and fast-breaking media cycles.
