Project Scheduler | 5 day fornight | Drive a Major Government Data Transformation
Ready to shape the delivery roadmap for one of the Queensland Government’s highest-profile digital initiatives?
A significant opportunity has opened for a detail-oriented and technically proficient Program Planner / Scheduler to join the Strategy and Performance Branch of a major Government Department. This is a critical role supporting the multi-year, transformational Program.
The Program is building the Department's first centralised, unified data repository, underpinned by robust data governance, to deliver trusted, timely intelligence to frontline staff.
The Impact You'll Make:
You will be the scheduling engine for this high-profile program, ensuring success across two major projects: Data Governance Framework implementation and the Enterprise Data Platform (EDP) design and delivery.
...- Integrated Scheduling: Develop and maintain integrated master schedules, identifying all critical milestones and interdependencies across data governance, architecture, and engineering streams.
- Methodology: Evolve the scheduling framework, manage the Performance Measurement Baseline (PMB), and apply advanced techniques like PERT and Critical Path Method (CPM).
- Risk & Reporting: Lead schedule risk assessment and dependency mapping sessions. Utilise Power BI for schedule insights to inform executive boards.
- Resource Management: Support resource planning and levelling to ensure alignment with project scope and budget.
What We're Looking For (5+ Years Experience):
- Scheduling Tools: Strong proficiency in Microsoft Project or Primavera P6.
- Technical Acumen: Experience supporting data-centric projects (Data Platforms, Governance, Analytics, Cloud Data Infrastructure) is highly desirable.
- Project Controls: Expertise in applying PM methodologies, managing dependencies across multiple workstreams, and working within Agile/Hybrid environments.
- Analytical Skills: Proactive, analytical mindset with proven ability to contribute to scenario planning and forensic schedule analysis.
This is your chance to play a foundational role in a programme that will empower thousands of staff across Queensland. If you are highly organised, excellent at navigating complexity, and ready to contribute to continuous improvement, apply now!
