New opportunity with our government client to join their Disaster Relief Funding Arrangement team as a Project Officer on temporary basis. Immediate / ASAP start.
The project is managing recoup of funds spend on disaster response and recovery. The funds are recouped through monthly claims which are compiled by their small team. The data is taken from the GL and manually spilt into the different funding categories.
This position is responsible for analysing and reporting weekly and monthly to senior leadership and strengthening the relationship.
Hourly Rate: $63 - $68 plus super
Contract: Temp - 3 months (strong possibility of extension)

Skills Required:
- Financial Accountant
- Auditing experience
- Very high level Excel skills
- Analysis & reporting
- Interpreting policy / compliance awareness - ability to understand a legal framework (ie the funding programs) and apply that to producing the claims
- Problem solving skills
- Communication skills – Internal and external stake holders
- Attention to detail – Critical thinking and ability to spot issues inconsistencies
- People management – Small team of 2
- Software skills – ability to use a variety of software and pick up new skills quickly.
- Contextual thinking/trend identification - ability to look at overall picture of a funding package or a claim, how this applies to employees on the ground and correlates to expenditure incurred. Identifying trends that are issues and being able to address them as one.
