Join a pivotal Federal Government Department, dedicated to advancing the disability sector and supporting Australians with disability to achieve their goals. We're seeking proactive, highly organised APS6 Project Officers to lead and support critical projects, delivering meaningful change.
This is an exceptional opportunity to apply your strong project experience and stakeholder engagement skills to initiatives that directly support this Department's objectives to enhance services for individuals with disability. You'll work under limited direction with with flexible working from home arrangements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and support projects, including developing and managing project plans and schedules in accordance with the Department's project management framework
- Engage with key internal and external stakeholders, providing specialist advice and technical expertise, and ensuring ownership of actions
- Undertake evaluation and analysis, preparing clear written materials such as briefs, reports, status updates, and presentations for senior leadership
- Create, monitor, and report on processes that support critical work delivery, while identifying opportunities for continuous improvement and assisting with managing project risks, issues, and benefits across the Department
Skills & Experience:
- Demonstrated ability to apply project management methodologies to plan, monitor, and deliver work packages
- Proven experience initiating, establishing, and maintaining strong relationships with key internal and external stakeholders
- Demonstrated ability to communicate complex information clearly and concisely through written briefs, reports, and presentations
- Strong judgement to resolve issues and make evidence-informed decisions
- Relevant qualifications in a social services field, government administration, or project management and/or demonstrated equivalent professional experience
- Experience within the disability sector or social services field advantageous
Desirable Skills:
- Experience in managing end-to-end projects within government or community services, including planning, implementation, and evaluation
