Reporting to the Project Manager, you will be responsible for providing essential engineering support, technical guidance, and coordination to ensure works are delivered safely, on time, and to specification.
Key Responsibilities:
Management & Coordination: Coordinate and manage subcontractors, suppliers, and internal resources to meet daily and weekly project targets.
Technical Compliance: Ensure all works comply with technical specifications, engineering drawings, and quality management plans.
Safety & HSEQ: Assist the Site team in maintaining the highest standards of Health, Safety, Environment, and Quality (HSEQ) compliance, including developing and reviewing SWMS (Safe Work Method Statements) and conducting site inductions.
Procurement & Commercial: Assist with procurement, managing RFI (Request for Information) processes, and tracking quantities and project progress for commercial reporting.
Quality Documentation: Maintain accurate site records, progressive tracking, and quality assurance documentation (I&TPs - Inspection and Test Plans).
Site Layout & Set-Out: Interpret engineering plans and assist with survey and set-out control where required.
To be successful in this contract role, you must be able to hit the ground running and demonstrate:
Qualifications: A Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering or a related discipline.
Experience: Proven experience (2+ years minimum) as a Project Engineer or Site Engineer, ideally on major civil infrastructure projects (roads, highways, earthworks, bridges, or utilities).
Technical Skills: Strong understanding of civil engineering construction methodologies, quality assurance processes, and safety legislation within the construction environment.
Contract Focus: Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities and drive short-term results on a fast-paced contract.
Communication: Highly effective written and verbal communication skills for clear interaction with the client, subcontractors, and the site workforce.
Availability: Immediate or near-immediate availability to commence a full-time contract role.
