Procurement Specialist - ERP Transformation Lead
About the Role:
Are you a Procurement Specialist with a passion for driving transformational change? Randstad is partnering with a prominent public sector organisation to secure a highly skilled Procurement Specialist to lead a critical workstream within a major ERP-enabled business transformation program.
Key Responsibilities:
- Future State Design & Analysis: Lead workshops and structured discussions with senior stakeholders to define procurement processes, roles, and capabilities. Conduct in-depth current-state diagnostics and gap analysis, developing robust options papers for executive decision-making.
- ERP Transformation Leadership: Act as the primary Procurement Subject Matter Expert within the ERP transformation program. Collaborate closely with the System Integrator to ensure all procurement requirements are accurately captured, configured, and delivered. Drive strategic alignment between procurement strategy and ERP system design, ensuring new processes are fit-for-purpose and scalable.
- Operating Model Transition: Spearhead the design and implementation of a centralised procurement operating model. Define innovative ways of working for sourcing, contract management, category management, and purchasing. Ensure all procurement policies, processes, and governance frameworks are fully aligned with the new model.
- Stakeholder Engagement & Governance: Partner effectively with internal stakeholders across Finance, IT, and Operations to ensure seamless integration and compliance. Provide clear, insightful reporting and updates to program leadership, steering committees, and executives, facilitating executive-level decision-making with evidence-based recommendations.
- Continuous Improvement: Proactively identify opportunities for cost optimisation, process efficiency, and enhanced supplier collaboration. Champion the embedding of best practice procurement principles within the new ERP solution and support ongoing measurement and improvement of procurement performance post-implementation.
Skills, Experience & Qualifications:
- Experienced as a Procurement Specialist or Procurement Transformation Lead within complex environments.
- Comprehensive understanding of end-to-end procurement processes (sourcing, contracting, supplier management, category management, and purchasing).
- Demonstrable experience in delivering or supporting ERP-enabled transformations with Tier 1 vendors (e.g., Oracle or SAP).
- Extensive experience working with third-party vendors.
- Background in large, complex organisations, ideally within the public sector.
- Exceptional stakeholder management, communication, and influencing skills at senior levels.
- Ability to drive procurement process design and operating model transitions.
- Experience in centralisation or shared services transitions.
- Strong knowledge of procurement policy, governance, and compliance in regulated industries.
