Your Opportunity
This role requires strong technical accounting, budgeting, annual planning, and expert analytical skills to ensure strategic budgeting, financial accounting, and external reporting requirements are met through effective process management and the delivery of complete, accurate, and timely reports.
As a senior-level specialist, you will play a key role during peak workload periods. The position calls for an agile professional who can manage multiple priorities, think independently, solve problems, and provide strategic financial advice. You may be responsible for leading or supporting activities in any of the following areas:
Your Contribution (Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities)
- Manage strategic projects related to corporate planning and budgeting processes, including project planning, investment prioritisation, target setting, and detailed budget development.
- Drive continuous improvement in corporate budgeting and planning processes, including forecasting, performance reporting, and financial review cycles.
- Provide high-level technical accounting advice across various formats, such as position papers, briefing notes, financial practices, and written communications.
- Offer expert input into system upgrade projects related to financial planning and reporting.
- Deliver current, high-level accounting and financial expertise across the organisation.
- Perform high-quality financial analysis, including evaluations, forecasting, and modelling to deliver strategic and value-added advice.
- Lead the preparation of consolidated financial statements for actuals, budget development, and review processes.
- Contribute to the enhancement of financial modelling and analysis frameworks to improve information delivery and operational efficiency.
- Support the development of financial recommendations for key stakeholders on matters of strategic and corporate importance.
- Lead business process reviews, identify and implement improvements, and support change initiatives.
- Assist in managing financial risks in alignment with internal policies and compliance requirements.
- Provide support to financial planning, performance, and treasury functions as needed.
The Ideal Candidate (Key Capabilities)
To succeed in this role, you will demonstrate:
- Proven experience in senior-level financial planning, analysis, and technical accounting roles within complex or large-scale organisations.
- Strong knowledge of financial reporting frameworks, budgeting processes, and accounting standards relevant to strategic and operational planning.
- Demonstrated capability in leading financial evaluations, forecasting, modelling, and providing high-value strategic advice.
- A track record of driving improvements in budgeting, reporting, and financial systems, with a focus on increasing efficiency and data-driven decision-making.
- Exceptional communication and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to present complex financial information clearly and influence at all organisational levels.
- A proactive, independent mindset with strong problem-solving abilities and a commitment to continuous improvement and innovation in financial management.
Qualifications
- Tertiary qualification in Business, Commerce, Finance.
- CPA/CA qualification
- Criminal History Check
