Randstad is partnering with a premier regulatory compliance and risk management consultancy to recruit a Principal Consultant for a 12-month contract.
About the Role
In this position, you will be responsible for managing risk, regulatory, and compliance engagements on a day-to-day basis. You will analyse complex problems, develop recommendations to address client issues, and be heavily involved in producing high-quality reports and other deliverables.
Key Responsibilities
Organise, plan, track, and manage assigned project resources and milestones from initiation to completion to reduce the risk of failure.
Evaluate and test controls to ensure they are designed and operating effectively, identifying weaknesses and assisting with remediation efforts.
Perform independent reviews, lookbacks, and validation of remediation plans and supporting deliverables.
Conduct mock regulatory examinations to identify risk and control gaps, simulating examiner environments and providing feedback to organisations.
Manage responses to regulatory requests and assist clients in drafting action plans and defining target states.
Convey intended messages concisely and completely across written, oral, and non-verbal formats, tailoring the communication to the audience.
Research and summarise quantitative and qualitative data effectively.
Key Requirements
A minimum of 6-8 years of experience within financial services, consulting, regulatory bodies, compliance, risk management, governance, or legal sectors.
A strong consulting background, with preferred experience in non-financial risk management, including operational risk and resilience.
Proven ability to apply project management methodologies, manage dependencies, and document risk factors.
Excellent communication and active listening skills, with the ability to articulate concepts, analysis, and recommendations clearly.
- Experience in a Bif 4 consulting firm, or experience within the risk function of a large financial services organisation is advantageous
