Description:
In the role of Engineer (Civil), with supervision and guidance from senior engineering staff, you will manage the assessment of multiple road infrastructure projects by third parties through the provision of extensive technical expertise and support to the assessment. In doing this you will ensure effective coordination of key operational activities and resources associated with project management and process development.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide engineering input into the services and advice on technical issues related to development control and third-party activities that would impact on the road network program.
- Communicate, verbally and in writing to stakeholders, information or advice on road network matters, including the preparation of technical reports, and replies to the public or to Ministerial correspondence.
- Undertake assessments of third-party applications seeking approval to conduct an activity or install infrastructure in a State Controlled Corridor.
- Monitor development control functions, to ensure that the impacts of development and third-party activities on road transport infrastructure controlled by Department of Transport and Main Roads are assessed within legislative timelines, and that conditions of approval to ameliorate these impacts are established and monitored.
- Monitor and audit third party works, ensuring construction and compliance with development assessment and access permits and consideration of its impact on the road network operations.
- Provide information and support to facilitate the investigation of complaints and requests for action from the public in relation to development assessments and third-party works.

- Contribute to the assessment and technical design review of activities relating to the State-controlled Road network, administered under the Planning Act 2016 and the Transport Infrastructure Act 1994.
- Manage under supervision, projects or elements of projects and:
- Provide support and advice on the planning and design process, to ensure delivery of project outcomes, value for money and best practice are achieved.
- Ensure all quality management procedures are adhered to.
- Maintain effective liaison and communication with internal and external stakeholders.
Requirements:
- A four-year, Washington Accord accredited, Bachelor of Engineering or equivalence which is assessed/accepted by
- Engineers Australia against Washington Accord benchmarks.
- Current holder of Class C driver's licence.
- Construction Industry Induction (White Card).
- Provision of own suitable Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
- Criminal History Screening must be undertaken by the successful candidate.
