PO1 - Student Engineer - Corridor Management
- Based Gold Coast
- Part time - 2 - 3 days per week (Full time during semester holidays)
- $32.10 - $45.74 per hour + superannuation
- 7.5 hour days
- 17/10/2025 - 16/04/2026 (4 x 6 Month extensions apply)
Part-time 2-3 days per week during semesters and full-time during Uni holidays.
Candidates will be required to be currently enrolled in a second or third year of a Bachelor of Engineering (Civil) degree accredited under the Washington Accord. This role will be managed under the direct supervision of a Senior Engineer.
... Key Responsibilities
- Communicate, verbally and in writing to stakeholders, information or advice on traffic operations, including the preparation of technical reports, and replies to the public or to Ministerial correspondence.
- Maintain and apply all relevant standards, policies, guidelines and legislative requirements necessary for the design and construction of road infrastructure projects and works.
- Assist with planning studies including investigate, analyse and review of traffic and transport options and solutions for the upgrades and future state-controlled network.
- Contribute to the regional program of works to ensure best value for money for proposed options within the region.
- Analyse, review and provide recommendation and advice for third party works within the road corridor
- Review of traffic control permits (including signage, speed reductions, shoulder/lane closures)
- Undertake under supervision the assessment and review of applications of public utility and plant works within the road corridor (including water, gas, electricity, telecommunications)
- Review proposed corridor works including new or changed accesses (driveways), new road works and other works proposed within the state-controlled road corridor.
- Provide technical advice and assistance in traffic engineering, geotechnical, stormwater and road safety to other officers.
