Overview
An exciting opportunity has arisen within a key Government Agency for a dedicated Manager - People Advisory to lead a team focused entirely on complex employee case management. This critical role is essential for maintaining effective and fair people practices within the agency.
You'll be instrumental in steering a team through challenging and high-stakes scenarios. This position is unique in its dedicated focus; your expertise will be concentrated solely on case management, leveraging your extensive experience to guide your team to positive and compliant outcomes. You will report to a senior leader within the People & Culture function, operating independently of the Employee Relations and HR Business Partnering teams, which are managed separately.
Responsibilities
Your primary responsibilities will include, but not be limited to:
Leading and mentoring a diverse team including Officers, Advisors, and Senior Advisors, to ensure consistent, high-quality case management delivery.
Providing expert guidance, advice, and oversight for the team's portfolio of complex case management.
Reviewing and approving complex case strategies and outcomes, ensuring they are aligned with agency policy, legislative requirements, and best practice principles.
Managing escalated and sensitive cases personally, demonstrating advanced problem-solving and stakeholder management skills.
Driving continuous improvement in case management processes, documentation, and reporting within the team.

Requirements
The successful candidate will possess:
Extensive, demonstrable experience in complex case management within an HR or People Advisory setting, ideally gained within the public sector.
Proven leadership capabilities with experience in successfully managing, coaching, and developing a team.
Exceptional knowledge of employment legislation, industrial instruments, and best practice principles related to employee case management.
Outstanding written and verbal communication skills.
A pragmatic, resilient, and outcome-focused approach to handling sensitive and challenging people matters.
