About the Role
Reporting to the Payroll Co-ordinator , the successful candidate will assist in the provision of a timely and accurate payroll service to the organisation. You will also maintain employee computer details and personnel files and actively contribute to meeting the objectives of the Payroll and Human Resources Departments.
Key Responsibilities
- End-to-End Fortnightly Payroll Processing: Receive and sort timesheets , perform data entry , check data input for accuracy , and process the end-to-end payrun when required.
- Post-Payrun Duties: Manage the production and distribution of pay envelopes , process post-payrun reports and reconciliations, and process and reconcile the superannuation file.
- Payroll & Superannuation Maintenance: Assist with employee master file changes , update employee personal details and deductions , input new employee information , and manage superannuation choice of fund website updates.
- Records Management: Ensure accurate filing of personnel records (including salary rates, leave, and deductions) and archive files and timesheets.
- Customer Service: Respond to all employee enquiries in a timely, efficient, and empathetic manner.
- Process Improvement: Assist in the continuous enhancement and improvement of payroll procedures and processes.
Skills & Experience Required
- Demonstrated experience in a payroll environment.
- Essential: Knowledge of and experience with the CHRIS21 payroll system.
- Good IT skills including PC, word processing, spreadsheet, and email applications.
- An understanding and aptitude for undertaking payroll tasks and responsibilities.
- Knowledge of EBAs and/or Industrial relations/Policies, and the ability to interpret them.
- Understanding of and ability to maintain confidentiality on payroll information.
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail with good organisational skills.
- Proven ability to work under pressure and meet timeframes.
