Parking Patrol Officer - Merrylands

This dynamic outdoor role is ideal for someone looking to contribute to a well-maintained and orderly community. You'll play a vital part in ensuring compliance with parking regulations and proactively addressing local amenity issues, helping to improve the liveability of Merrylands' Town Centres and shopping strips.
As a Parking Patrol Officer, you'll be a key guardian of community safety and amenity. Your core duties will involve effectively patrolling parking restriction zones, including vital daily checks of school zones, and issuing Penalty Notices or warnings. Beyond enforcement, you'll actively monitor and address local amenity issues such as illegally dumped rubbish, littering, and footpath obstructions. This role also includes assisting with public education initiatives and meticulously handling all necessary reporting, from audits to preparing court documents.
Shift Details:
- Full-Time Casual: 35 hours per week
- Days: Monday to Friday
- Hours: Shifts will fall between 7:30 AM and 7:30 PM,
- Pay Rate: $33.96 per hour
We are Looking For:
- Proven customer service experience in a challenging, public-facing environment.
- Ability to work effectively and collaboratively in a team environment.
- Strong computer literacy.
- Advanced written and verbal communication skills to communicate with public and write reports.
- Ability to follow established work practices diligently.
- School Certificate or equivalent.
- Willingness to gain specialised training in SEINS Penalty Infringement systems and other necessary skills.
- A current NSW Driver's Licence.
- Current Police Check.
Highly Desirable:
- Previous experience in Local Government, Parking Patrol, or a related enforcement field.
- Experience operating handheld PDA infringement systems (e.g. PINFORCE).
- Familiarity with preparing affidavits or statements for court proceedings.
- An understanding of Roads and traffic legislation, particularly the Australian Road Rules.
