Locations: Nedlands (7 minute drive from Perth CBD)
Position: Outpatient Clerk, Back of house administration involving referral follow ups. Full time 37.5 hours a week.
Hourly rate: $35-45 an hour + Super
Duties include but are not limited to:
- Initiate, coordinate, and process all new and review appointment bookings, cancellations, follow-up scheduling, and waitlist requests.
- Arrange clinic appointments, taking into consideration specific patient needs or departmental constraints.
- Process and classify outpatient referral information according to the WA Health Non-Admitted Activity Recording and Reporting Policy.
- Maintain and update patient details, including financial elections, on the computerized patient administration system.
Request, retrieve, and accurately track medical records; distribute and file all relevant patient documentation for use within and outside the service.
Arrange necessary services for patients, such as hospital transport, tests, and interpreter bookings.
- Process outpatient letters (often related to referrals and appointments) as per agreed departmental procedure.
- Excellent verbal communication skills, enthusiastic and a positive CAN DO attitude
- Strong background in customer service to help patients and co-workers in a professional manner.
- Manage reception and telephone enquiries. Receive, redirect and screen telephone calls as required.

- Recent medical/Health sector experience in administration field.
