Randstad is proud to partner with the leading provider of construction and strategic building maintenance services for the Queensland Government. We have an immediate need for an 007 Senior Supervisor located at Eagle Farm.
The responsibility of the Supervisor is to assist in managing and coordinating project planning and delivery activities in order to maximise project profitability and ensure client satisfaction, provide supervisory services to the delivery of construction, maintenance and upgrade works being undertaken, provide inspection services in accordance with KPIs, liaise with customers, subcontractors and other business areas, and complete scope works and provide estimates as required.
The primary purpose of this position is to effectively manage and coordinate the plumbing pipeline of works, project planning, and delivery activities to ensure client satisfaction and operational efficiency.
As the Senior Supervisor (Plumbing), you will oversee a small, dedicated team of trade staff, apprentices, and subcontractors. You will balance fieldwork with operational oversight, ensuring compliance, safety, and high-quality service delivery.
What You Will Be Doing
... - Team & Pipeline Management: Lead, supervise, and mentor a small team of plumbing trade staff and apprentices, proactively managing work performance and conduct.
- Project Delivery: Plan and deliver maintenance, construction, and upgrade projects within agreed cost, quality, and time parameters.
- Budget & Program Oversight: Monitor project expenditure and utilize effective work order management techniques to report on the status and quality of service delivery.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Build and maintain positive relationships with both internal and external stakeholders through clear communication and sound negotiation.
- Safety & Compliance: Maintain a healthy and safe work environment, ensuring strict compliance with workplace health and safety (WHS) regulations and building standards.
Mandatory Requirements:
- Supervisory Experience: Demonstrated experience leading and managing a team of tradespeople and apprentices.
- Communication Skills: Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with a proven ability to manage relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
- Safety Induction: Current Workplace Health and Safety General Safety Induction Card (White Card).
Highly Desirable Skills & Additional Requirements:
- Plumbing Trade Licence: A valid, current plumbing trade licence.
- Current open Driver’s Licence.
- Proven experience managing project budgets, programs, and resource allocations.
- Thorough working knowledge of plumbing/building construction legislation, regulatory requirements, and contract procedures.
The successful candidate will:
- Exhibit leadership while supervising services in respect to the delivery of construction, contract management, maintenance and upgrade work, including assisting in the planning and delivery of projects through the efficient supervision and development of office staff, field staff and subcontractors.
- Display an excellent working knowledge of construction equipment and procedures with a strong focus on WH&S.
- Demonstrate the ability to produce high quality tender and quotation documentation for building projects and prepare accurate and timely estimates, quotations and project trade packages, including material lists and construction programs.
- Maintain a healthy and safe work environment, ensuring compliance across all activities.
- Possess advanced computer skills and have a sound understanding of excel.
It is expected that the successful candidate will possess strong oral/written communication, presentation and interpersonal skills. They will display initiative, attention to detail, and have the ability to work autonomously and unsupervised whilst contributing to the wider team's objectives of ensuring service delivery exceeds expectations.
