This role is pivotal in ensuring the delivery of evidence-based, consumer-centered care while maintaining the highest standards of safety, accreditation, and governance.
As the Nurse Unit Manager, you will oversee daily operations, manage budgets, and foster a culture of continuous improvement. You will be the bridge between strategic goals and frontline care, ensuring our residents live with dignity and receive top-tier health services.
Key Responsibilities
Clinical Leadership: Direct and support the care team, ensuring all practice is safe, evidence-based, and within the scope of practice.
Operations & Finance: Manage the unit budget, maximize revenue through efficient resource allocation, and meet monthly business KPIs.
Accreditation & Quality: Lead the unit through accreditation processes, ensuring 100% compliance with national safety and quality standards.
Staff Development: Oversee recruitment, retention, and annual performance appraisals, ensuring a highly skilled and motivated workforce.
Safe Practice: Act as a champion for OH&S, managing incident reporting (Riskman), infection control, and emergency response protocols.
Stakeholder Engagement: Build strong, transparent relationships with residents, families, carers, and external health partners.
Key Selection Criteria
Registration: Current Registered Nurse status with AHPRA.
Experience: Demonstrated experience in a management or leadership role within a clinical or residential aged care setting. This role is open to Clinical Coordinators ready to step up!
Clinical Expertise: Dynamic care planning, problem-solving skills, and a strong understanding of risk management.
Accreditation Knowledge: Proven track record in meeting and maintaining accreditation requirements.
Communication: Exceptional interpersonal skills with the ability to manage conflict and lead diverse teams.
Compliance: Ability to prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and work within legislative frameworks.
Requirements
Bachelors in Nursing and AHPRA.
Current Victorian Driver’s Licence.
Current National Police Check (or ability to obtain one).
Must hold Australian work rights. Only on-shore candidates will be considered.
