About the Opportunity
We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Nurse Unit Manager to lead our modern, standalone Day Surgery Unit (Surgicentre). This is a fantastic opportunity to secure your next career move with a planned start in the new year (January 2026).
This permanent, full-time NUM2 role offers an exceptional work/life balance, operating Monday to Friday with the option of a 9-day fortnight. As a key clinical leader, you will work closely with the Deputy Director of Perioperative Services to uphold our high standards of patient care, drive operational efficiency, and cultivate a positive and professional team culture. While you will primarily be based in the day surgery unit, the role may occasionally require you to work within the theatres at our main hospital campus.
Responsibilities will include:
... Managing the day-to-day operations of the day surgery unit to ensure a smooth and efficient workflow.
Maintaining and promoting high clinical standards and safe, high-quality patient care.
Providing high-level clinical leadership and mentorship to your team.
Participating in and leading quality improvement initiatives that contribute to the overall performance of the unit.
Championing a positive, professional, and supportive workplace culture.
What You'll Bring:
Current and unrestricted registration with AHPRA as a Registered Nurse.
A minimum of 3 years of post-graduate nursing experience in the public and/or private health sector.
Proven management or leadership experience in a clinical setting, ideally within perioperative services.
A strong commitment to clinical excellence and patient-centred care.
Excellent communication, organisational, and interpersonal skills.
