About The Company

About the Role:
As the National Operations Manager, you’ll oversee both Linehaul and State-based operations, ensuring compliance, safety, performance improvement, and profitability across the network. You'll lead strategic initiatives, manage stakeholder relationships, and drive operational excellence while meeting contract SLA’s and delivering superior service outcomes.
Your duties will include:
- Ensure adherence to all government & regulatory standards, particularly NHVR & CoR
- Uphold company policies, WHS guidelines and specific customer site induction procedures
- Lead Linehaul and State operations teams
- Manage escalated customer queries, grievances, and staff disciplinary matters
- Drive operational performance and profitability via effective methods and strategies
- Conduct reviews to identify continuous improvement opportunities
- Create and implement a national operational plan to support strategic business growth
- Partner with HR to recruit & retain top talent,coach and manage staff performance; facilitate appraisals, PIPs, and discipline when necessary
- Set and monitor annual performance goals
- Oversee P&L, budgets, cost reporting, and procurement strategies
- Deliver timely operational and financial reporting to internal and external stakeholders
The Successful Applicant will demonstrate the following skills and attributes:
- Sound knowledge of NHVR and CoR regulations
- Demonstrated experience in transport & logistics, especially linehaul operations
- Strong senior-level operational management experience
- Excellent administrative capabilities
- High competency in WHS and HR practices, including people and budget management
- Outstanding written and oral communication skills
- Proven track record in coaching, staff development, and disciplinary processes
