This "relationship-rich" school of approximately 500 students is a community where every individual is known. Position 1: Head of Learning Diversity
Tenure: 3-Year Fixed Term (with substantive ongoing teaching position)
Provide strategic leadership to ensure students with diverse needs participate fully in College life. You will serve as a critical "lens for inclusion" across both the Student Wellbeing and Curriculum Advancement teams.
- Key Focus: Lead whole-school NCCD audit readiness, including student identification, data validation, and staff support.
- Team Leadership: Coordinate a dedicated team of Learning Diversity teachers and Education Support staff.
- Student Support: Oversee IEP development, SSG/PSG processes, and evidence-based programs like MACQLIT.
- Capability Building: Build staff capacity to implement reasonable adjustments and inclusive practices.
Position 2: Head of Year
Tenure: Fixed-term until 31 December 2026 (with substantive ongoing teaching position)
Lead student wellbeing at a specific year level, ensuring students are safe, supported, and positively engaged.
- Wellbeing Leadership: Use SEQTA to monitor trends in behavior, attendance, and engagement to provide proactive support.
- Relationship Management: Support DELTA Mentors and use restorative practices ("Living in the Green") to foster a positive cohort culture.
- Programs & Events: Organize and run year-level camps, assemblies, and personal development programs (e.g., Teen Mental Health First Aid, Careers, or Peer Support).
- Advocacy: Partner with parents and carers to support individual student growth and celebrate achievement
Required Skills & Experience
- Teaching Credentials: Current VIT registration (or eligibility) with strong secondary teaching experience.
- Specialized Knowledge: * For Diversity: Deep understanding of the NCCD, DDA 1992, and Disability Standards for Education.
- For Head of Year: Strong understanding of adolescent development and restorative behavior management.
- Leadership: Proven ability to lead teams, manage complex stakeholder conversations, and coordinate programs.
