Location: Deakin, ACT
Employment Type: Casual
Hours: Ready to start at 1 day per week (with additional availability required during the July school holiday period).
We are seeking a reliable, personable, and organised Casual Medical Receptionist.
This role is ideal for someone looking for excellent work-life balance, a student, or a parent looking to keep their foot in the door. The base commitment is 1 day per week (specific day to be discussed). However, a key requirement for this role is flexibility to step up and cover extra days during the school holiday period this coming July.
As the face of the clinic, your day-to-day will involve:
Patient Care: Greeting patients warmly upon arrival, managing check-ins, and creating a positive first impression.
Appointment Management: Answering phone calls, managing emails, and booking appointments efficiently using our practice software.
Billing & Admin: Processing payments (Medicare, health funds, and private billings), handling patient intake forms, and scanning/filing medical records.
Clinic Presentation: Ensuring the waiting room and reception desk remain tidy, organised, and welcoming.
Triage & Communication: Handling inquiries professionally and escalating urgent medical queries to the nursing or clinical team as appropriate.
Previous experience in a medical reception or customer service role.
Exceptional communication skills and a empathetic, patient-first attitude.
Strong multitasking skills with the ability to stay calm under pressure.
Proficiency in medical software is a bonus.
Availability for 1 consistent day per week, plus the flexibility to work additional shifts during the July school holidays.
If you have a bright personality, love helping people, and have the flexibility we are looking for, we would love to hear from you!
