The Opportunity:
Randstad is partnering with a leading company in the Blue Mountains to find a committed Mechanical Maintenance Technician. This full-time position offers a stable work schedule, primarily operating from approximately 5 AM to 2 PM, Monday to Friday. Occasional callouts are limited to 10:30 PM, ensuring you maintain that crucial work/life balance within a positive company culture.
This role is perfect for a skilled tradesperson, whether you are straight out of your trade looking for a strong start, or an experienced professional seeking a more consistent pace without being ready for retirement.
Key Responsibilities:
Perform daily fixed plant inspections, identifying and resolving mechanical faults.
Conduct programmed maintenance, participate in shutdowns, and execute reactive maintenance tasks.
Undertake minor fabrication work as required.
Organise resources and supervise/conduct repairs efficiently.
Ensure all plant and equipment operate well within statutory requirements.
Maintain accurate records and report all incidents.
Contribute to continuous improvement by advising on maintenance tasks, processes, or plant performance.
Manage workshop stock levels of components and consumables.
Support plant housekeeping activities to maintain a clean and safe workshop environment (5S Standards).
About You:
You possess a Mechanical Fitting trade qualification (essential). A Welding/Boilermaker trade qualification is highly desirable.
You have previous mechanical fitting experience (essential).
You are adept at analysing and troubleshooting complex mechanical issues.
You are committed to continuous improvement and maintaining high standards.
Crucially, you hold either full working Rights or a 491 Regional Visa for NSW or are in the final process of obtaining one, and are willing to live and work in the Blue Mountains region.
