I’m recruiting on behalf of a leading client in the energy sector, who is seeking a strong and dynamic leader to step into the pivotal role of Manager of Asset Operations. This is a fantastic opportunity to lead, inspire, and drive operational excellence for the gas transmission assets while ensuring the highest standards of safety, reliability, and efficiency.

Key Responsibilities:

• Operational Leadership: Manage and oversee all aspects of asset operations for the gas business unit, ensuring alignment with asset strategy and regulatory requirements.
  
  
• Safety & Environment: Champion asset safety, process safety, and environmental protection within all operational activities.
  
  
• Team Development: Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing operations team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and competency.
  
  
• Risk Management: Manage and own all risks within the remit, adhering to the company's Risk Management Framework, procedures, and processes.
  
  
• Budget Management: Oversee and manage both operational and capital expenditure budgets within delegated authorities.
  
  
• Planning & Scheduling: Own asset planning and scheduling activities, ensuring all work is meticulously planned, scheduled, and executed to meet customer demands and align with the Asset Strategy.
  
  
• Stakeholder Management: Develop and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including regulatory bodies, local state regulators, and contractors.
  
  
• Strategic Input: Participate in and review/approve asset strategies and lifecycle plans, ensuring long-term operational success.
  
  
• Contractor Management: Oversee and manage contractor performance to ensure adherence to standards and project timelines.
  
  
• People Outcomes: Contribute to talent development, succession planning, and a positive culture within the team.
  
  
• Industrial Relations: Manage industrial relations in line with the Head of Operations.
  
  

About You:

• Extensive experience in gas infrastructure operations or a similar asset-heavy industry.
  
  
• Proven leadership skills, with the ability to manage diverse teams and complex operations.
  
  
• Strong expertise in safety, environmental compliance, and risk management.
  
  
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to build relationships with internal teams, regulators, and contractors.
  
  
• Solid experience in budget management, planning, and asset lifecycle management.
