Management Accountant (Tech Non-For-Profit)

Randstad is partnering with a well-regarded technology-focused not-for-profit organisation to recruit a Management Accountant for a broad and hands-on finance role.
Operating nationally at the intersection of technology, research and innovation, the organisation delivers critical digital infrastructure and services to Australia's research sectors. This role would suit someone with strong management accounting experience who understands the financial reporting requirements of a not-for-profit, government-funded or grant-funded environment.
Reporting to the Operations Manager, you will take ownership of management reporting, budgeting, forecasting, financial analysis, compliance, grant acquittals and board reporting.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare monthly, quarterly and annual financial reports.
- Deliver management reporting, dashboards and financial insights to senior stakeholders.
- Lead budgeting, forecasting and variance analysis.
- Prepare board-level financial reports and commentary.
- Support government funding, grant reporting and acquittal requirements.
- Coordinate audit processes and liaise with external auditors.
- Manage reconciliations, journals, accruals, cashflow and general ledger integrity.
- Support payroll-related financial reporting.
- Provide financial advice to managers and internal stakeholders.
- Identify opportunities to improve systems, reporting and finance processes.
About You:
- You will ideally bring experience from a not-for-profit, government-funded, education, research, health, community services or grant-funded environment.
You will also bring:
- CA or CPA qualification, or working towards completion.
- Experience in a Management Accountant, Company Accountant, Senior Accountant or similar role.
- Strong budgeting, forecasting and management reporting experience.
- Understanding of grant funding, acquittals, compliance reporting or government funding requirements.
- Strong Excel skills and experience using finance systems such as Xero.
- Experience working with auditors and supporting year-end processes.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work with non-finance stakeholders.
- A proactive, hands-on approach and the ability to work autonomously.
